Guidance for: Practitioners: Suitable Job Roles

Where gaps in the skills and knowledge provided by the qualification are shown, the Sector Skills Councils advise anyone holding this qualification to fill these gaps. Although this is not a legal requirement, it is essential for good practice. If you work in a childcare setting registered by the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted), the qualification will be recognised as one that can help the registered provider meet the qualification requirements of the national standards. You should be prepared to produce the relevant certificate for the qualification to be recognised by employers and Ofsted.
